CURRICULUM FOCUS

This week in Mathematics, students have been learning to add numbers.

VOCABULARY

Addition: adding numbers together to make a bigger number.

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

With your child gather two small collections of objects and practice counting all to find the whole number. You can use objects such as Lego, spoons or pencils to make the 2 numbers. Push the 2 groups together to find the total.

For example:

3 pencils and 2 pencils make 5 pencils.
