This week in Reading we have been determining the importance of information we read in books. 

VOCABULARY

Determine: decide the the important main ideas in the text. 

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Ask your child to imagine they are going to the farm for an excursion. What are the important items to bring with you, what is not important?

Have your child draw a picture list of items that are important to bring to the farm. 

For example, a drink bottle and jacket are important. A teddy bear is not important.
