This week in Reading the students will be continuing their learning on how to make justified predictions.


VOCABULARY

Confirm: To establish the truth or correctness of (something previously believed or suspected to be the case).

 

Prove: Demonstrate the truth or existence of (something) by evidence or argument.

 

Evidence: The available body of facts or information indicating whether a belief is true or valid.

 

Prediction: Thinking about what will happen next in a text

Using a satchel book or another book of your choice, use the following questions to explore the story more actively.

 

Use these prompts to discuss your predictions with your child. 

 

Use the sentence prompts to support prediction

Continue the process focusing on each stage 

During - stopping throughout the pages.

After - what you think is going to happen after the text has ended
