Reports & Parent Teacher Interviews

The teachers are working hard to ensure that the students’ half yearly reports will be ready to go home next Friday 23rd June. This is in preparation for Parent/Teacher Interviews. For our Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 families, the interviews will be just for teachers and parents. Our Year 3 - 6 children will be involved in “three way interviews” between teachers, parents and students. The idea of these meetings is to focus on each child’s learning. Other concerns should be addressed at another time. Each interview time is 10 minutes. Experience has taught us that ten minutes is almost always enough time. If you need more time we will make another appointment on another day. The interviews must finish on time as a delay in one interview could impact on twelve teachers and many families.

Canberra Excursion

Currently, our Year 5 & 6 students are in Canberra on an education tour of the national capital. Students will be given the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational programs with a focus on Australia’s history, culture, heritage and democracy.

The Australian Government recognises the importance of all young Australians being able to visit the national capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education. To assist families in meeting the cost of the excursion the Australian Government is contributing funding of $30 per student under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate program towards those costs. The rebate is paid directly to the school upon completion of the excursion.
