CBCA Children’s Book Week

The CBCA Children’s Book Week will be celebrated at Emmaus Christian College in Week 6 of Term 3 across Early Learning to Year 12. We will have lunchtime activities and Homegroup challenges throughout the week.

Dress Up Day Friday 25 August

Included in these fun activities, will be a whole school dress up day on Friday 25 August where students (and staff) can choose to come dressed as their favourite book character.

Similar to other casual days we will be asking students to bring a gold coin donation towards the Pitjantjatjara Children’s Bible supporting Mr Blenskinsop’s Bible Bike Ride.

We want to give you time to think and plan over the holidays so it is not a last minute rush.

Here are some guidelines for the dress up day:

  • Your favourite book character must be identifiable and students will either need to have a copy of the book or the book cover with them.
  • This is not a competition! It's a fun activity to celebrate books and reading.
  • We encourage students to find things they already have at home to create their costumes. There's no need to spend lots of money on a costume.

Stay tuned for more details about the week in Term 3.

Holiday Borrowing

All students are encouraged to continue reading over the holidays. Students may borrow from the Library for the holidays provided they have no overdue books.

We also encourage families to visit their local library during the holidays to access even more books to read.

Happy reading!
