**Hollows House Newsletter - Term 3, 2023**
Greetings, Hollows House Community!
Welcome back to another exciting term at Hampton Park Secondary College! We hope that the mid-year break provided you with some well deserved rest and relaxation. As we dive into Term 3, there's no time to waste as we have an abundance of opportunities and important events lined up for all our wonderful students. Let's get started!
**Course Counselling Process for 2024 Classes: Preparing for Your Future Learning**
One of the significant milestones for our students this term is the course counselling process for the 2024 classes. This process marks an essential step in your educational journey, as it will shape your future learning and prepare you for the pathways that lie ahead. It is crucial for all students to be well-prepared and have a sound understanding of their goals and aspirations.
Throughout this term, our dedicated team of teachers, careers practitioners and course counsellors will be available to assist and guide you through the course selection process. They will help you explore various subject options, understand the prerequisites for different pathways, and provide valuable insights to help you make informed decisions about your academic journey.
**Know Your Pathways: Building a Solid Foundation**
At Hampton Park Secondary College, we believe in empowering our students with knowledge and understanding about the different pathways they can take. Whether your interests lie in the sciences, humanities, arts, or any other field, we offer a wide array of subjects designed to cater to your unique ambitions.
This term, we encourage students to take the time to research and explore the various pathways available to them. Understanding the subjects and prerequisites required for their chosen career or higher education goals will be invaluable in planning their course selection. Our team is here to support and guide you in this process to ensure you make the most informed choices for your future. Students will be given a number of opportunities to investigate and research different courses and subjects through our mentor program every Tuesday.
**Extra-Curricular Opportunities: Enhancing the High School Experience**
Beyond academics, Hollows House is known for its vibrant and inclusive community. We are proud to offer an array of extra-curricular activities and clubs that cater to diverse interests and talents. From sports to arts, cultural activities to leadership opportunities, there's something for everyone to get involved in. As well as 4C’s continuing this term, all students participate in a range of different mentor competitions, competing against the different houses and also year levels within Hollows House.
Participating in extra-curricular activities not only enriches your high school experience but also helps in personal growth, building essential life skills, and making lasting friendships. We encourage all students to explore the various clubs and programs available and make the most of their time at Hampton Park Secondary College. This term, we have another very exciting opportunity for students to display their talents and show House spirit- HP’s Got Talent! This event will take place at the end of this term. Students can sign up with Mr Andrews from this week and commence rehearsals once they have done so. A statement of commitment to the event is required for students to sign and return as part of the process. Students performing an act must all be in Hollows House. For more and all information, see Mr Andrews in Hollows House.
