Principal's Report 

We, at Miners Rest Primary School, would like to acknowledge the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation.

We pay our respects and thank the Wadawurrung people.

May we share your land. We promise to look after it, as well as the animals and people too.

 

Welcome back!

We warmly welcome all of our families back to school for an exciting and engaging term of learning, special events and celebrations involving our community. We trust that all of our families enjoyed a relaxing and restful break away from the busyness of school routine.

Staffing

We have a number of changes to our staffing this term.

We wish Laura Wallis every success and happiness as she begins at Delacombe Primary School full-time as of next week. We thank Laura for the significant support that she has provided to our students, families and staff. We will officially farewell Laura at our assembly this Friday.

Matthew Smith will be Acting Principal at Ararat North Primary School for all of Term Three. Laura Boadle will fulfill the role of Nominated Supervisor at the Kindergarten this term and Kyra Ives will support Matthew's role linked to Assessment & Reporting at the school. 

Claire Fletcher in M3 is reducing her time in M3 to four days per week and Mrs Bleicher will be joining the M3 team on Fridays for the rest of the year.

It's official, we are live and very grateful for the support that we have already received on our site. Keep up to date with events and happenings, receive reminders and view some fabulous photos of Miners Rest Kindergarten and Primary School.

Continuation of Works

Unfortunately we still have major works impacting our grounds across our school site. We are however, holding on tight to the final outcome of beautiful safe play spaces upon completion. 

What are we looking forward to this Term?

  • St Johns First Aid in Schools program
  • Year 3 Camp to Cave Hill Creek
  • Book Week
  • The Renegades Roadshow
  • A celebration of Maths with a race and a show
