Term 3 Week 2
I am so excited to welcome our junior students into the Art Room this term. All the Prep, Grade 1, 2 and 2/3 C will be participating in our school Art program this term. It has been so lovely to see so many happy faces entering the art room!
All of our students receive a visual diary (scrap book) to plan and practise their art ideas. Our prep students have started the term learning about primary colours and what colours they can mix to form secondary colours. I have seen lots of magical facial expressions watching the colours change. So far they have experimented with paint sticks, pastels and black markers. Next week we will be adding primary and secondary water colours to their projects.
The grade 1 students have been exploring the artwork of a beautiful book called "Hooray for Birds". They have been discussing the features, colours and patterns used. We cannot wait to see how your bird collages turn out Grade 1?
The Grade 2 students and 2/3C have begun learning about the endangered koalas on the Mornington Peninsula. These students have also started their sketches ready to participate in a competition called Wild at Art for threatened Australian species and plants. Check out the following link to explore more about this competition.
