Welcome back to Term Three! We hope you enjoyed the holidays and had equal parts relaxation and fun. The Year 2's have made a wonderful start to Semester 2 and are already achieving great things. We have a very fun term ahead and look forward to sharing snippets with you in this fortnightly newsletter!

The Next Fortnight of Learning

Literacy

This term we will be immersing students in a Prehistoric Animal experience! The focus will be on non-fiction texts.

  • researching skills
  • collecting facts about prehistoric animals
  • simple, compound, complex sentences
  • Rocket Writing- building writing stamina
  • Phonics- reviewing learning from Grade 1

Maths

  • addition and subtraction- using strategies to work efficiently through problems
  • data collection and graphing
  • problem solving sessions
  • mapping 

Inquiry

Our topic for this term is 'Use of Earth's Resources.'

Wellbeing

We will continue looking at Zones of Regulation and Respectful Relationships. Our focus for the upcoming fortnight will be:

  • Gender & Identity- Comparing Personal Differences and Labels are for Jars Not People
