St Brigid's News and Events

RE NEWS
National NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia in the first week of July each year (Sunday to Sunday), to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth. The theme this year is ‘For our Elders.’ While we here at St Brigid’s were on holiday for NAIDOC Week itself, our classes have reflected on this important part of our Australian culture this week. There will be a short prayer as part of Friday’s assembly.
Our Year 3/4 children wrote an acknowledgement of land after researching the different components.

With the sandpit resources restocked students continue their creative collaborative play in the sandpit.
CUBBY HOUSE
The very well used cubby house resources are looking a little depleted. Do you have any unwanted resources at home that the students can use for imaginary play? Items such as toy cooking equipment, tools, cash registers would be happily received.
