Principal News

Throughout this term we are having a big focus on successful play in the yard for all students. At the beginning of each play time there is an an announcement to remind students of the expectations of them when they play in the yard and the names of the staff on Yard Duty who are there to assist with problem solving as well as acknowledging students for making positive choices. I would like to ask for the support of families to follow up with this during conversations at home so that students are hearing a consistent message from home and school. Some example conversation prompts might be:

-Who do you like playing with?

-What games and activities do you enjoy?

-What are the rules/expectations of the game?

-How can you navigate problem solving for things like winning and loosing, taking turns and asking to join in?

By focusing our effort and keeping these ideas front of mind for our students, we can support them to make positive choices in the yard and to make the most out of their play time at school.

The due date for 2024 Foundation is fast approaching and we ask that enrolment forms be submitted by Friday 28 July. If you have younger children who will be starting school next year or know of local families who are looking to enrol for next year, please ask them to contact our office for further information.
