New Adventure – St Augustines News

Term 2 week 6

Thank you so much to everyone who completed our family survey. Approximately 1/3 of our families helped us by responding and it was a really positive experience with some great results. We are so glad you love our service and we really appreciated all the feedback which we will take back to the whole team at the next meeting.

Get to know the team

One of the comments was that you would love to know more about our caring staff here at New Adventure so this week we will start with Chiara !

Chiara is one of our Qualified Educators and is currently studying at Monash University to be a Primary School Teacher.

Chiara is in her first year at Uni after finishing Year 12 at John Paul College last year and started with us at New Adventure in January.

What have we been up to in the last two weeks?

Green Thumbs Gardening and On the Farm

Some of our activities last week included Bean Sprouting. We have had our jars sat on the window sill in the sun and they are coming along nicely. We also did some Rock Painting and enjoyed our mini garden Sensory tubs. In science our Colour changing flowers worked so well. We had a morning of Frog pond nature I spy and created some beautiful Tissue paper sunflowers.

We have had lots of excitement over the past few weeks about the school pets and especially our new goats. This led to this weeks theme of on the farm.

Again we have been really busy and this weeks program included :

Monday: Arts and Crafts

BSC- Grass Heads 

ASC- Goat Head Crafts 

Tuesday: Music and Drama

BSC- Farm sensory bin/ pretend play 

ASC- Making cow bells

Wednesday: Science and Cooking

BSC- Life cycle of a chicken 

ASC- Milking the cow

Thursday: Let’s Get Active

BSC- Farm yoga

ASC- Round up the sheep

Friday: Rest & Reflect

BSC- Duck, Duck, Goose/ Colouring sheets

ASC- Dog Origami/ Movie: Chicken Run

SCHOOL CLOSURE DAY AND VACATION CARE

We have a limited number of spots available for Tuesday 13th June, please book through hubhello as it is a long day program. Please note that Before and After school Tuesday children do not automatically get a spot for this day you need to book separately.

Vacation Care bookings open on Sunday and the program will be emailed to our current enrolments only. We will be running a program for both weeks of the Winter vacation on site at school although we will have some special visitors both weeks. Keep your eyes on your inbox.
