Athletics Carnival
What an amazing day we had on Tuesday, Week 8 for our whole school Athletics Carnival!
Congratulations to all of our students who displayed outstanding behaviour, enthusiasm and sportsmanship! It was also great to see our 5, 6 and 7 year old students having fun together and joining in games (the parachute is ALWAYS a highlight!).
Thank you to our families who were able to join us at Croome Road for the day and to Crystal W, Josh W and Albion Park Little Athletics for allowing us to use the equipment and field and helping the day run smoothly. Thank you to the Albion Park High School helpers who also supported our teachers in each event. Some students participated in the 1500m event on Monday and did a fantastic job to run such a far length.
We wish good luck to all the students who were successful in making it to the Mid-south Athletics Carnival which will happen in Week 3, Term 3.
PSSA Mid-South Athletics Carnival Reminder
Students who qualified for the PSSA Mid South Athletics carnival received their permission notes this week. The white form needs to be returned to Miss Ford by today at 3pm. If your child wishes to withdraw from any event, they must indicate this on the white form. Students are unable to withdraw on the day of the carnival, if they do this they will be disqualified from all events, this is inline with the PSSA Mid-South regulations. The DASH online form needs to be completed by Monday, 17 July. If the DASH form is not completed by the deadline your child will not be able to participate at the carnival.
Premier's Sporting Challenge
On Wednesday, 21 June, 20 Stage 3 students had the opportunity to participate in the Oak Flats Community of Schools Premier's Sporting Challenge at Shellharbour City Stadium. They had a brilliant time learning new skills and playing games together with students from Albion Park Rail Public School, Balarang Public School and Oak Flats High School.
1500 Track Event
On Monday, 26 June some of our students competed in the 1500m running event at Geoff Shaw Oval. They braved the elements, running against strong winds. Well done to all of the competitors on a terrific effort. Thank you to Miss Ford for organising the event and to the parents who came and cheered on the children.
