Wellbeing

Greetings, students, parents, carers, and staff,

As the winter holidays approach, it is essential that we prioritise our physical and mental wellbeing. The break from school provides a valuable opportunity to relax and recharge, and we want to ensure that everyone enjoys a safe and healthy time away from school. Here are some tips to promote wellness during this time.

First and foremost, let's focus on physical health. It's tempting to spend the entire holiday season indoors, but it's important to stay active. Engage in outdoor activities like walks, bike rides, or sports with family and friends. The fresh air and exercise will do wonders for your physical and mental wellbeing. Keeping our bodies moving helps boost our immune system and supports a healthy mind.

In addition to physical activity, it is crucial to take care of our mental health during the winter holidays. The break can be a mix of emotions for many people, and it's essential to prioritise self-care. Allocate time for activities that bring you joy, whether it's reading, painting, playing music, or spending quality time with loved ones. While holidays are fun, they can also bring stress with not being in the normal school routine of having a plan for the day, seeing friends, or utilising the supports that are available through school. Engaging in activities that nurture our passions and relationships can significantly enhance our emotional wellbeing. Remember, the winter holidays are also an opportunity for rest and relaxation.

At Edenhope College, we care deeply about your wellbeing. We encourage everyone to spend time on their physical and mental health over the winter holidays. Let's make this break a time of rejuvenation, connection, and personal growth. We look forward to seeing you all back in the new term, ready to embark on exciting learning adventures together.

Wishing you all a safe, healthy, and enjoyable winter holiday season!

Warm regards,

Ben Kilby
