Italian News (Grade 3-6)
Benvenuti a tutti gli alunni 3-6 for term 4! This term the 3-6 will do some cultural exploring (via multimedia and not ‘real life’ travelling unfortunately! We will be looking at how the Italian school system works how it differs or is the same as our Australian schools. This particular unit will introduce students to new vocabulary, an opportunity to express likes and dislikes as well research a particular question they might have about Italian students and schools.
The last two weeks of the term will be dedicated to il natale and the students will learn an Italian Christmas carol to hopefully share with the school community.
A presto

Walk 2 School Month
October is Walk 2 School Month. Each day in October students can record if they have walked, ridden or scooted to school. This will be tallied in classrooms and at the end of the month we can see how much exercise we are all getting traveling to and from school. If you are able, you could park a couple of blocks from school and walk from there - that still counts!!
On Wednesday October 30th we will celebrate Walk 2 School Month with our annual 'Walk 2 School day' and fruit snack/breakfast. Teachers will meet with families at 2 locations - corner of Hutton St and St George's RD (near Millhouse Bakery) and Pender's Park - and we can walk to school together!
Care Monkey
CareMonkey is coming to St Mary’s!! 10th October 2019
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We are excited to advise you that we are adopting a new system named CareMonkey. CareMonkey will replace paper notes/forms as well as Skoolbag which will no longer be used as of Monday 21st October. CareMonkey operates through both a website and/or app.
The CareMonkey system makes it very easy for you to respond to excursion, camp and other consent forms using your mobile phone, tablet or PC. No more paperwork! No more lost forms or notes covered in squashed banana in school bags, no more concerns about children missing out on information when they are absent. And no more unnecessary reminders!
It will greatly reduce the burden on you to provide information that is repetitive. For example, it will allow you to keep your child’s emergency contact and medical information up to date; so you don’t need to repeat this information again whilst your child is at the school. It also puts you in control of this data so you’ll always know what emergency contacts and medical information is shared with the school.
You don’t need to do anything else until you receive an email invitation asking you to sign up for your free CareMonkey account. After that, you’ll receive notifications whenever there is an electronic form to complete for the school.
Kind regards
