2019 in the Library

Another incredible year brought a hive of activity to our Library. The Reading Challenge kicked off in February with the sharing of popular reads, loud recommendations for additions to our Fiction collection and the staple popcorn snack.

We celebrated ‘Reading is my Superpower’ during Book Week with enthusiasm. Year 7, 8 and 9 classes used the new relaxing reading zone for sessions, which is comfortable and snug (with thanks to parental support of the Library trust fund). Classes participated in the various ‘Superhero’ quizzes and a superhero cape selfie photo. A ‘flash’ read drew much attention from students who curiously observed staff reading in the canteen area.

Additionally, to provide respite from digital devices, ‘Tech free Thursday’ was born. Students enthusiastically embraced the opportunity to turn off phones and grab a board game. Watching the positive interactions, the buzz is undeniable!
