SKATING
Ashley Hunter (Year 8) has enjoyed major success competing in inline speed skating over the past years, winning many medals.
In April 2014 he competed in his second Oceania Inline Speed Skating Championships in New Zealand and won 1 Gold, 4 Silver and 1 Bronze. More recently, in January, he competed at the Australian National Inline Skating Championships and won 8 Gold, 2 Silver and 3 Bronze.
He has been selected to go to The Namwon Korea Open in April this year to compete for Australia.
What a wonderful achievement Ashley and we wish you continued success.
2014 VICTORIAN SPORTS AWARD
Melina Ayres (Year 10) has been selected to receive a 2014 Victorian School Sports Award for outstanding achievement. The ceremony will be held at the MCG in the coming month.
Melina has represented many sports nationally and is most deserving of this award as a talented sportswoman.
Congratulations, Melina, on your sporting achievements.
VICTORIAN STATE SCHOOLS' SPECTACULAR
Congratulations to Ceridwen McCooey (Year 10) who successfully auditioned to be a member of this year's Victorian State Schools Spectacular.
They will be rehearsing for two performances at the Hisense Arena on Saturday 12 September followed by a 90 minute broadcast of the show on Channel 7.
Ceridwen has also been selected to take part in a workshop event with the Australian Chamber Orchestra at the Performing Arts Unit on Friday 6 March. This event will see students working with some of Australia's most exciting string players.
Ceridwen is a commendable ambassador for McKinnon Secondary College.
VICTORIAN SPRINT CHAMPIONSHIPS - SWIMMING
Will Sharp(Year 7) participated in the Victorian Sprint Championships in Swimming held at MSAC recently and is now the new State champion for the 50m Butterfly event. He also won a Silver medal in the 50m Backstroke.
As well, Will competed at the State Multi Event Athletics Titles held at Moe last weekend where he won a Bronze medal. Congratulations and well done Will. Good luck in your future endeavours.

Maya Hammam(Year 8) participated at the Victorian Sprint Championships held at MSAC recently and won a Gold medal in the 50 metres Breast Stroke event. Congratulations and well done Maya. Good luck for your future events.
