Ministry Message
Time goes quickly; in life we turn around and years have passed.
The end of November at Endeavour College is a time of realisation that the year is about to end! For most of us it is just another year, but not for our Year 12 students. For them, it is a time of the greatest transition they have ever experienced. They entered the College as children, and now they are leaving as adults. They came to Endeavour College based on a decision made by their parents or guardians, but now the time has come to take control of their own futures.
It is exciting, but for many this new phase of life might be accompanied by feelings of fear and vulnerability. It is not just the students who might feel this way. It is often the parents and caregivers who, realising their loved ones are moving into adulthood, hope that they will make the best choices for themselves.
So, we pray for a smooth transition for our students and children, we want to comfort our spirits by reminding ourselves that there is someone truly in control of all transitions of life, and who will never leave us and never forsake us. It is our God!
Our God is a God of transitions. He brought Joshua from the status of student to that of teacher and a leader with stature (Joshua 1). He helped Deborah transition smoothly into a position of leadership (Judges 4–5), and He transitioned Timothy from studying God’s Word to teaching it (2 Timothy 1:5–6; 3:14–15). The reason why we have these stories in the Bible, is so we can look at them in times of need and remember that God is worthy to be trusted.
He says to us in Jeremiah 29:11 “I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”.
To all the Year 12 students, enjoy the journey ahead! Congratulations and God’s blessings on the new beginnings that lie ahead of you!
To all the parents and caregivers, pray for them! Pray for them, trusting that God will lead them and look after them!
