Maths Week

Maths Week

On Monday the 22nd of July marked the beginning of Maths Week. Mathematics is the universal language that is simply a part of us. Even people without mathematical training use their fingers to count and use basic logic to solve things. It is an adventure that is not always easy. But what good adventure has no challengers?

On Monday both students and teachers got together and decorated a large plain brick wall with maths equations and formulas. We also played songs like the Frozen parody “Do you wanna add some fractions” to accompany our mathematical artists. On Tuesday, we had the CAS calculator graph competition where students came and sketched many shapes including, flowers, hearts and bridges. Past year 12 students came on Wednesday to share some essential tips on surviving VCE maths and Thursday was followed by a QR code quiz. Friday was the rivalry between students and teachers competing each other with mental maths. Teachers weren't too happy after the game.

Our aim of maths week was to motivate everyone to continue the mathematics in the future and show them the importance of it. Overall maths week was great!
