From the Principal

Dear families,

In the first half of this term students have been engaged in a wide variety of learning as well as some extra curricular activities such as Debating. This year we are lucky enough to have two teams. Debates are held at Grange in week 3, 6, and 9 this term and then there will be two debates next term. Our two debating teams had their very first debate last Thursday night. The Year 5's debated the topic: Dogs are better than cats and the Year 6's debated the topic: Schools should ban mullets

This was the first time for all of our debaters and they presented themselves well on the night. The year 5 team won their first debate which was a fantastic start for them. The next debate will be held in week 6 on Thursday night at Grange Primary School.

Yard Supervision

We are noticing that there has been an increase in students arriving early and playing on the courts, using soccer balls and riding scooters before yard duty begins. This is an issue not only because of the cold damp mornings  but also because our yard duty supervision does not start until 8:35am each morning. Yard supervision is a vital part of ensuring the safety of students once they enter the school site. Students arriving early represent a risk as students are not supervised at this time. Please access the OSHC service if you need to drop children off early. If your child comes to school independently, please remind them of this. Students arriving before 8:30am will be directed to the Front Office to wait for yard supervision, or, depending on how early they arrive they may need to be redirected to the OSHC, where supervision and care fees apply.
