MEET THE PRINCIPAL TEAM

We had a small number of parents join us for an information session with the School Improvement Team. We shared the Carnegie PS vision and unpacked our achievements to date in facilitating our school’s Annual Implementation Plan. There were a few questions that were answered and the feedback I have received has been very positive. Should we run the session again in term 2, I encourage others to join us to celebrate all the offerings of which Carnegie PS is so proud.

STUDENT REPORTS & THREE WAY CONFERENCES

All our teachers have commenced working diligently, finalising assessments and moderating student work to produce comprehensive individual student reports for parents. Ongoing formal and informal assessment of students is an integral part of our teaching and learning.  All areas of the school have a very strong team focus with children often working with their homeroom teacher but also working with other teachers and Education Support Officers.

Student Led Conferences are scheduled for Term 3, Wednesday 26th July, 2023. A reminder that semester reports will be available to download from Compass on Wednesday 21st June, 2023.

NATIONAL RECONCILIATION WEEK

Reconciliation week is held each year from 27 May to 3 June. The 2023 theme is ‘Be a Voice for Generations.’ It’s a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.  During this week, all classes will be exploring the importance of reconciliation in Australia and will also be contributing to creating a "Sea of Hands" installation which will go on display within the school. Thank you to Jess Langson and the Discovery Team for coordinating this wonderful initiative.

OPEN MORNING THIS FRIDAY

We are holding a whole school Open Morning this Friday 2nd June from 8.45am-9.15am for families to come along and visit their children's classrooms.
