Dear Marian Catholic College Parents/Carers and Community,
Last Friday (June 23rd) we held the Senior Award Ceremony. Watching all of the students accept these, I was impressed by the number of awards achieved. This includes students who have received multiple awards, students receiving awards for merit, those awarded for their strong efforts and care. These ceremonies demonstrate the magnificent work ethic of all involved. They provide visible evidence of the charisma of St Marcellin Champagnat and the Venerable Catherine McAuley throughout the College.
A very large part of our student success is due to the work and talents of individual students, and their motivation, ability and effort. However, achieving these awards is also testament to the efforts of the teachers and those working behind the scenes providing the learning, the resources and the compassionate support for this to happen. This also includes the efforts of parents, carers and families who provide faith-filled encouragement, care and love to their students so they can flourish.
So to our student award winners -congratulations! Your families and friends will be very proud of your achievements and merit. We certainly are! To all of our students in Year 11 and 12-well done! It has been another challenging semester, and you have risen to the occasion. We are behind you all the way and hope to encourage you to continue your strong efforts in all subjects this year.
Remember-the senior years are a marathon, not a sprint! Stay strong, the finish line is in sight.
To teachers, leaders, families and support staff, thank you for all of your faith, your work, your visible love and your care this term. To any of those leaving the College for other endeavours or family moves, we wish you all the best and thank you for the contribution you have made while with us. As we conclude the term, we also wish our Year 12 students all the best for their trial exams, assessments and study over the course of Term 3.
To all in our community, students and staff, pace yourself, make sure you take time in these next two weeks of the break to do those things and activities that support your wellbeing and nourish your soul.
Remember that your parish, Church and faith are also there to support you and welcome your presence. There are also many community supports and services available to support wellbeing and mental health.
Reach out if you need support over these next few months. Everyone here wants you to do well and everyone wants you to be well.
