Aboriginal Education

Dear Parents and Carers,
NAIDOC Week Parent Meeting
Thank you to the families who were able to attend our NAIDOC Week Meeting last week. The theme for 2023 is For Our Elders - who are cultural knowledge holders, trailblazers, nurturers, advocates, teachers, survivors, leaders, hard workers and loved ones.
The Aboriginal Education Committee is currently planning our NAIDOC celebration which will be held in the first week of Term 3, from Tuesday, 18 July until Friday, 21 July 2023. On Wednesday, 19 July 2023 we will be holding a day of whole school activities with a picnic lunch and Assembly, which we warmly invite our parents, carers and families to attend.
Part of the day will involve rotational activities for all students from Kindergarten to Year 6. We would like to extend an invitation to our parents, carers and family members to join us by participating in the activities with your children, assisting in the running of activities or volunteering to run an activity. Activities include art, dance, science, music, games and storytelling. Please contact the school or myself if you would like to get involved – families are children’s first teachers!
NAIDOC Week Meal Deal
During our whole school NAIDOC Week Celebration on Wednesday, 19 July, we will be having a meal deal. Students, parents, carers and families can order a hamburger (with or without sauce, cheese, lettuce and tomato), a choice of a lilly pilly jelly or a lemon myrtle cookie with a choice of drink including water, juice, flavoured milk or Chill J. The meal deal will start from $6.50 and can be ordered through the Qkr app. Cut off will be midnight on Sunday, 16 July 2023.
