Italian News

Ciao a tutti, (Hello everyone),

 

A big congratulations to 8 of our Year 5 and 6 students who participated in the Italian Poetry Competition at Gladstone Park Secondary College on Thursday 4th May.  We had a great day of recitals followed by a pizza lunch. They all did an amazing job learning their poem off by heart. Auguri (Congratulations) to the following students on their achievement:

Last term’s Pasta incursion was enjoyed by students and staff. I invited the Italian newspaper to attend and an article was included in the Italian newspaper, Il Globo, on the 27th April.

Term 2

Foundation – We are listening to a story about Fairy floss, (Zucchero filato) and Pinocchio’s adventures at the fair. We are counting from 0-10 in Italian and learning the colour names in Italian.  We are learning basic greetings in Italian.

 

Year 1/2 – We are listening to a story about a little brother at the shops and his adventure. (Il mio fratellino). We are learning the names of family members in Italian and revising the colours, numbers and greetings in Italian.

 

Year 3/4 - We are listening to a story about Tom Thumb’s party (La festa di Poliicino). We are learning names of animals, learning verbs in Italian and revising greetings.

 

Year 5/6 – We are researching an Italian region of choice and preparing a short presentation for the class. We are also revising greetings, months, seasons and days of the week in Italian.
