Year 6 Incursion

Courage to Care Incursion

Courage to Care is an educational program about the importance of standing up to discrimination, empowering each of us to confront prejudice and disrespectful behaviour. Taking inspiration from real-life extraordinary acts of courage by ordinary people, they offer Upstander Programs to inspire students to make a difference by standing up and acting by creating real change in the schoolyard.

This incursion, supports our Term 2 Inquiry, “How have things changed?” As we explore significant historical moments and how they changed the way we think and act. Students will learn how society influences the way we see and treat others and what stereotyping, prejudice, discrimination, racism is. They will explore what it really means to be a bystander and how they can become “upstanders” with real and practical tools. Students will understand how they can make a difference in their daily lives.
