From the Principal

Welcome Fr Fabian

Fr Fabian visited our school on Friday afternoon and stayed for our Senior Assembly. It was a lovely surprise to have Fr Fabian visit us the day after returning from his holiday to India. Fr Fabian will be back twice next week. He will be coming to meet our staff and chat to our children preparing for First Eucharist on Wednesday and then will be with us to celebrate Mass at 12:45 on St Kevin's Day on Friday. We wish Fr Fabian the very BEST as he settles into life as our Parish Priest.

Grandparents and Special People Day

On Monday on a sunny winter afternoon we had a large number of grandparents and special friends join us at St Francis de Sales. This year for our second Grandparents visit we held the event in the afternoon. Our special visitors arrived at lunch time and were able to enjoy some light refreshments and a hot cuppa. As the day was pleasant many took the opportunity to gather at tables in the sunshine. We were delighted at the great response as more and more visitors joined us.

Soon as the music sounded for the children to return to class after their lunch time play, our grandparents walked over to the learning spaces. Some were able to split their time over a couple of spaces to ensure all their grand children had a visit. The children were delighted and proud to show their special visitors their Learning Space. Our grandparents and special Visiors were able to join in some activities. As we our currently engaged in a history unit looking at connections, some of our grandparents were able to share some valuable insights with the children.

The afternoon concluded with a gathering to pray together and give thanks. Some children were delighted that they got to go home with their special visitors.

Judging by all I witnessed and the lovely feedback received it was a very successful afternoon. Thank you to all our grandparents and special people for visiting our school and making this day such a success. Next year we look forward to gathering in our new hall. Make sure you mark the date in your calendar as we will be delighted for you to join us for Grandparents and Special People Day 2024!!

Farewell and Thanks to Anthony

On Thursday after school our staff gathered to farewell Anthony in our high vis. There were many stories to share and lots of laughs as we reflected on the great contribution that Anthony has made in his time at our school. There was also a farewell at our whole school assembly on Friday.  We thank Anthony for his time as a senior Home Group teacher, taking on roles like OH&S and contributing to new initiatives like the implementation of SeeSaw and supporting our presence on social media by posting on Facebook and Instagram just to mention a few of the ways Anthony has supported our school. We wish Anthony the very BEST as he takes up his new appointment.

We welcome back Andrea who will be taking the role of Home Group teacher for the rest of this term.

To make things easy, parents can book a tour or complete an application to enrol via our website. Please continue to promote our school. Word of Mouth references is one of the key ways parents tell us they know about our school. So keep spreading the news of this wonderful learning community.

RESPECT

Respect is one of our expected behaviours that we teach our students. Your example is a visible reinforcement of our expectations. In partnership, we support our children to learn.

We therefore ask parents for your support. Please do not park in front of people's driveways in Aylmer Road. Please do not block neighbours in their own house. We would not like it happen to us, please respect the right of our neighbours to enter and exit their homes. We are so lucky to have ample parking close to our school. Let us please respect the road rules by driving and parking with respect to other road users and our neighbours.

COUNT DOWN..........

We are now just days away from completion!!  Pin up boards are in, final features internally are being completed, security is in place and AV is  getting installed. Next week we will see the final fit off with windows installed to the front, kitchen appliances in and landscape work completed. A new fence will be installed the following week. We are counting down the days to getting our occupancy certificate and finally moving in. The pictures look great but it is sensational to actually walk into this amazing space. We are so lucky to have this facility for our students and community.

Be a Voice for Generations.
