Courage, Faith, Love

Dear Parents and Friends of St Agatha's Primary School,

What a busy couple of weeks we have had!

Our Year Fives had a wonderful camp at CYC in Melbourne where they visited many iconic tourist attractions such as the MCG, Museum, iMax Theatre and Old Melbourne Goal. From all accounts the students and teachers are happy but exhausted! What a fantastic experience for them all.

The Year Six Confirmation candidates enjoyed a Retreat Day on Thursday run by the Sisters of Mercy and facilitated by Mr Butler. They are preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation which will take place on Sunday June 18. We will keep them all in our prayers during this time!

The Year Three students had a great day last Thursday when they headed off on their excursion to the Immigration Museum in Melbourne. They were so excited to board the bus and spend time in the city. The teachers and I were so proud of their excellent behaviour!  The teachers told me that one of the public approached to praise the teachers for the amazing behaviour of the students walking around the city. Well done to all!

Last week, we have been learning about Reconciliation Week and had the pleasure of the Bunurong Land Council lead us through a Welcome to Country smoking ceremony. It was such a great experience and much like sitting around a campfire under our new shade sails in the Courtyard area.

Lord God, bring us together as one,
Reconciled with you and reconciled with each other.
You made us in your likeness,
You gave us your Son, Jesus Christ.
He has given us forgiveness from sin.
Lord God, bring us together as one,
Different in culture, but given new life in Jesus Christ,
Together as your body, your Church, your people.
Lord God, bring us together as one,
Reconciled, healed, forgiven,
Sharing you with others as you have called us to do.
In Jesus Christ, let us be together as one. Amen.

Don't forget that on Monday June 12 it is the King's Birthday Public Holiday and the School will be closed. Have a wonderful long weekend!
