We are learning to revise and edit a narrative that considers the audience and purpose. 


VOCABULARY

Revise: to look over again in order to correct or improve.

Edit: to correct, revise, and prepare for publication.

Structure: the overall organisation of a piece of writing.


ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Using the narrative that your child wrote last week, get them to re-read the story, revise and edit their work. Remind them to consider the narrative structure and the components found within each section of the overall structure. Remind them to check for spelling mistakes, punctuation, compound and complex sentences and for the story to make sense for any/all readers.
