😊Host family diary 3
I stayed at Langley's house for 4 weeks. I spent a lot of time with them. I was so lucky, because the family was very lovely!!! I had so many experiences from them.
On the school day off, we went to the Healesville Sanctuary! I could see many Australian animals and the exciting bird show!! It was impressive that a big bird passed by me.
Watching the movie “Little Mermaid” at the theater, dancing with the children, taking a video (Eloise was a director and I was an actor), watching cricket on TV, and playing with the pets…
And on the weekend, we went to Japanese restaurant, OKAMI. We enjoyed Japanese food!! I was so happy that I ate many Japanese dishes after a long time.
Not only that, they helped me plan my trip. Thanks to them, I could book a hotel and a flight, and am going to go to Sydney during the school holiday!!
Every day was so much fun. 4 weeks seemed to be long, but it went by so fast. I was very glad to see this family. I love Langley’s family. Thank you so much for your kindness!!
😊Horse Riding Adventure!!
On Queen’s Birthday Weekends, I went to Heyfield and participated in the horse riding tour. We climbed the mountain while riding a horse. We rode the horses for 6 hours a day!! We walked on steep slopes, downhills, and bushes. Sometimes, we enjoyed canter!!
For the 3 days, I stayed at the bunkhouse with the other members. And the place was very country where I could not use Internet. In addition, at night, there were no street lights, and it was pitch dark. It was very freezing, but the stars were very beautiful. And the riding, the horses, and the scenery was so impressive. It was a fulfilling weekend.
😊OBENTO COMPETITION in grade 6
In grade 6, we had OBENTO COMPETITION. OBENTO is a lunch box in Japanese. Grade 6 made OBENTO with paper because they learned about Japanese foods. In OBENTO, we can often see vegetables, rice, fried rolled egg, and fried fish or meat. And among OBENTOs, there are also very cute and decorated “Chara-Ben (Character OBENTO).” They made it while being conscious of the appearance and Japanese side dishes.
In Japan, we can buy OBENTO at stations, convenience stores, and even in some trains!! If you visit Japan, please buy and try it. I am sure it is great and you will like it!
😊Kendama challenge in grade 4
Kendama is the one of Japanese traditional toys. Have you ever tried it? I like Kendama and good at it! Kendama has three plates one stick, and one ball. We play by putting the ball on a plate or inserting the ball into a stick. In grade 4, we had Kendama challenge. The first person to put the ball on the plate wins. This was quite difficult for them, and it got exciting every time someone succeeded!
😊Host family diary 4
My third host family is Brooke's family. Brooke is a school nurse in Kalinda Primary School. I have been staying since the 13th of June. In her house, I have been having good experiences.
For example...
I went to Melbourne Zoo with Brooke, Will (grade2), and Lucy (Foundation). They are familiar with the zoo because they often come here. They introduced a lot of animals. We also went to Butterfly House. The butterflies were on Will and Lucy’s hands, and they were cute!
And, in her house, I tried to soak the cereal in milk and eat it in the morning. Actually, I often eat bread or yogurt and granola for the breakfast. But this was the first time that I ate the cereal in milk!! It was crispy and great.
And, when I said, “I have not had SLURPEE yet,” James, who is Brooke’s husband, bought it for me at Seven-Eleven! It was cold and great! I want to buy it myself next time.
On the weekend, they held Pizza Party! They have the pizza oven in the house and James made a lot of pizza from the dough. Their relatives also gathered, and we enjoyed eating pizza, talking, and playing games.
Thank you for so many memories and kindness!!
😊Julia is a nice tour guide!
On the weekend, I went to the city with Julia! Julia is working in Kalinda Primary School. Julia knows a lot of delicious restaurants and cafés. We enjoyed the branch, bread, matcha latte, and doughnut!! I got so full!! Julia is a very good tour guide!! Thank you for taking me with you!!
