What are songlines?

Songlines are an essential part of Aboriginal culture, and they are routes taken by their ancestors which extend across the Australian continent. They contain knowledge of the land, its people, and creation, and they play a significant role in Aboriginal spiritual beliefs and practices. Along the Warrandyte Yarra riverbank, the songlines and Dreamtime stories have been preserved and passed down through generations of Aboriginal people. These stories tell of the creation of the landscape, the animals, and the people who have lived along the river for thousands of years.
