From the School Council

#ProudToBePublic  |  Parents and Friends Association | 2023 Council

If you follow social media, you may have seen #ProudToBePublic trending lately with many amazing stories from prominent Australians who were educated in the public system. I’m a firm believer in government education for the values, diversity, peer group and quality of teaching and learning. Supporting our children’s secondary schools is giving them wings to soar. Your help assists our school to have the resources and support it needs to thrive and give our kids the education they deserve, teacher support and professional development.

Ways to support our school include paying voluntary contributions. Like all government schools, Chelt.Sec has a limited budget and your contributions help bridge the gap and provide resources to enhance the education school can deliver – activities, specialised equipment, learning resources, buildings and grounds. If you are able to contribute, please do – it makes a huge difference.

And get involved! Attend school events, volunteer to help out, and meet other parents. Be part of a supportive community and show your child the value of being an engaged citizen. It's not just about your child; it's about building a vibrant community that uplifts every student and celebrates their unique talents.

Parents and Friends Association

We continue to seek interested parents and friends to join the Cheltenham Secondary College Parents and Friends Association (PFA).  We are not looking for you to single-handedly run all sorts of complex meetings or events. We simply want the PFA to have a large group of individuals willing to help at any fundraising or school events.  We want it to be a fun group of people rather than a burden and grind for those involved.

If you are interested in being added to our mailing list, please complete the PFA Expression of Interest survey.  To find out more contact Sharon: pfcheltsec@gmail.com
