From the Principal

As the end of Term 2 is not too far away, I’m reminded of the enormous growth that has occurred this semester and the opportunities that lie ahead and the sense of community that makes our school truly special. Today, we want to emphasise the values of respect and a sense of community that bind us together.

Respect is the cornerstone of any thriving community. It is the recognition and appreciation of each member's diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences. As we interact with one another - students, teachers, parents, and staff - we must remember to embrace the power of respect in our words, actions, and attitudes.

Let us actively listen to one another, valuing and seeking to understand different viewpoints. Through respectful dialogue, we can foster an environment where everyone feels heard, valued, and included. Together, we can learn and grow, broadening our horizons and challenging our assumptions.

Respect extends beyond our immediate community and encompasses our wider world. As global citizens, we are responsible for treating others with kindness, empathy, and compassion. Let us encourage one another to embrace diversity and champion inclusivity, creating a safe and welcoming space for all.

A strong sense of community is nurtured when we actively engage and support one another. We are more than a collection of individuals; we are a united family, bound by shared values and a common purpose. This year, we encourage each member of our community to reach out, extend a helping hand, and offer support wherever it is needed.

Our school thrives when respect and a strong sense of community are at its core. Let us commit ourselves to uphold these values, not only while we are at school, but also in our interactions beyond. Together, we can create an environment where everyone feels valued, empowered, and inspired to reach their full potential.

Avenues Exchange

As we gear up for the much-anticipated return of the Exchange with Avenues High School after four years in hiatus, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on the important relationship our two schools have built over the past nearly 60 years.

The Exchange is not just about competition but about building positive relations and memories.  Sixty years of collaboration, friendship, and shared values have laid the foundation for an experience that will be remembered for many years by our current students.

I would like to encourage all students participating in the Exchange to embrace the opportunity, support one another, enjoy the experience, and build a lasting friendship that extends far beyond this moment.

Best wishes for a memorable experience!

Regards
