Nationally Consistent Collection Of Data

Professional Development of Teachers

“The NCCD identifies the functional needs of students and then identifies adjustments that need to be put in place for them to access and participate in education on the same basis as students without a disability.”

-Judy Connell, Manager Learning Diversity, Catholic Education Melbourne

All staff at Holy Family are currently undertaking online modules which address the Disability Standards for Education in Primary Schools.

We complete this course every two years, providing us with the necessary training schools require to uphold our legal obligations under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA) and the Disability Standards for Education 2005.

Importantly the training enables us to understand the links between the Disability Discrimination Act, the Disability Standards for Education and the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD)

The training can substantially improve the quality of the NCCD and boost our ability to use the NCCD to support personalised learning resulting in better educational outcomes for students with a disability.

The outcomes of our training also support us in meeting some of the requirements of  Child Safe Standard  Five, which focuses on diversity and equity.
