Foundation to Year 2 students experienced the following:
Level 3 to 6 students enhanced their learning through the following units:
Our active recreation activities (in line with our Physical literacy project) have had high levels of participation already this term. 65 students experienced throwing foam javelins during Monday's recess session. Looks like we need to invest in more foam javelins so we have less lines and students waiting for a go.
At the start of the year I applied for some more funding to support movement at Roxburgh Park Primary School. We have been notified that we were successful with our application. Our school has gained $30,000 to support Active Recreation, Active Transport and teacher training. The money will go along way to supporting engaging and quality movement at school.
Active Recreation is session that take place during Physical Education, before school through activations and at lunch time and recess. Active Travel is supporting the growth of our Challenge and Adventure Units through skateboarding, scooters and bicycle education and supporting our students to walk/ride more to school.
Thank you everyone who raised money for our Cross Country Colour Run. The money raised will go into school yard facilities. Prizes will be ordered soon. We appreciate everyone's support here. It was an incredible day!
Best wishes to the students who have now qualified to the District Cross Country on Friday 14th May at Brimbank Park.
Finally, congratulations Blue House for winning this years Cross Country event!
During Term 2 our Year 5/6 students experienced sport trials and from there teams were selected to take part in the upcoming Greenvale District Winter Sport A League gala days.
Our Term 2 sports are: Football (Soccer) 7s, AFL 7s and Netball.
The Greenvale District gala day is on Friday 28th May.
Late in Term 1 our Bowls team competed at a Region level in Bowls. The event was held at the Preston-Reservoir Bowls Club. We finished the day with 1 win and 3 close losses. Well done to our Bowls team!
