On Time Awards

Congratulations to all of the students who have been arriving on time for school! Arriving on time and entering class at 8:50am sets you up for a successful day. Keep on eye out next term for our On Time awards, establishing good routines are essential.

Student Attitude to School survey

During the term we surveyed all students in grades 4, 5 and 6 about their opinions and attitudes. The questions were related to their teacher, how they feel about school, friends and bullying. This raised a conversation about the difference in a yard issue and bullying.

Bullying is when someone who has an advantage (such as being stronger or more popular) hurts another person on purpose and does so often or repeatedly. Bullying can occur in different ways, such as verbal (e.g. name calling), social (e.g. leaving someone out of things), physical (e.g. hitting or kicking), or cyber (e.g. on social media).

At  Roxburgh Park Primary School we encourage all students to inform the yard duty teacher if they see something that break our school rules or is against our school values. From here we have a process in place to investigate and follow up on any issues arising.

Past results have led to some grate ideas and actions within the school. One change that many students will have seen this year is their visual maths goals.

School Facilities Upgrades

Solar Power

After successfully applying for the Victorian Greener Buildings Grant, our solar panels have been installed. This clean and green energy source will power the entire school when running at it's maximum capacity. The 63kW solar system will display our schools energy usage in comparison to our energy generation, which the Student Action Team is very keen to analyse.

"I think these solar panels will help reduce our electricity bills

and be better for the environment," Anthony

Toilet Refurbishment

Another successful grant application will see the Science block toilets refurbished over July. With the addition of an undercover walkway, water tanks and new mirrors, our students will be able to access these toilets all year round undercover.

“The new floor, sinks and taps are a big improvement, it's easier to wash your hands.

The brand new toilets are super clean,” - Isaac Grade 4
