Ms Anthea Gardner and Mr Elder
Ms Anthea Gardner and Mr Elder

The College Board has appointed a new Board Chair, Ms Anthea Gardner, and we look forward to her leadership over the coming years.

Anthea Gardner was a Board Member of The King's College from 2012 to 2014. During this time she was Deputy Chair and Acting Chair. At the Annual General Meeting held in May 2021, The King's College Board nominated and voted Anthea as Board Chair. She is very excited about partnering and collaborating across a range of key stakeholders including Dr Gerry McCoy, The King's Chapel Board, The King's College Board, The King's College Principal, Executive and staff, our students and families, and our wider community.

For the past 15 years, Anthea has worked in the corporate sector doing portfolio change leadership for global organisations including BHP, Chevron, Fortescue Mining Group, BP, Toll, along with some utility companies. Prior to that she was a Commercial Director for CSIRO in the US, and also launched an Australian Wine Import company in Washington DC.

Anthea has a background in teaching and education. She was the Head of Music at Willetton SHS, Como SHS and Girrawheen SHS. She has taught mostly at secondary level, but also at tertiary and primary levels.

Anthea is also a Christian Minister and has served as a worship pastor, teacher and preacher, and been the guest speaker at one-day retreats. Her greatest passion is people connecting authentically with God and creating environments where we can love and support each other to grow into the fullness of who God intends us to be.

She has lived in Melbourne, Washington DC, London, the Solomon Islands, and most importantly – her home town Perth!

She is excited by the possibilities for The King's College and is looking forward to meeting you in the near future.

The King's Community Service

Sunday 27 June 2021@ 10am

Dr Gerry and Maureen McCoy would like to invite you to attend The King’s Community Service this Sunday 27 June at 10am.  This is a combined service with The King’s Chapel and The King’s College. This is a fantastic opportunity for College staff and families to join together with the church families to worship together.

The King’s College Chapel Crew will be leading the worship service. There will be an item by The King’s Chapel Worship Team and an interview with students from the College coordinated by Ps Michael Battersby. We will hear a short message from the Principal, Mr Ian Elder, and a message from Dr Gerry McCoy, founder of The King’s College and Senior Pastor of The King’s Chapel.  Morning tea will be provided after the service.

iPads for Primary Students

We have purchased 32 iPads to add to the existing devices.  The Year 5 and 6 classes need 1:1 iPad use when undertaking investigations.  Our model is to add further devices to increase iPad availability for all classes from Year K-6.
