INDUCTION/STAFF HANDBOOK

This tab informs staff induction processes and also serves as the Murputja Anangu School Staff Handbook.

This tab will serve as a permanent resource for staff to Murputja Anangu School.

The resource will be built over the coming months so that new (and existing) staff are able to easily access the necessary induction material as they join the Murputja Anangu School community. This will support the induction of new staff, but will also serve as our electronic staff handbook.

Welcome to Murputja Anangu School

I would like to welcome you to Murputja Anangu School and I trust that you will enjoy your time here and find it both enjoyable and professionally rewarding. The material contained below serves as to support the induction of new/returning staff but also as a general staff handbook.

As a new staff member at Murputja you will be assigned an 'induction buddy' who will:

  • give you an understanding of your new role and what is expected of you
  • familiarise you with our workplace, including the information needed to carry out your duties

It is your responsibility to:

  • complete the induction program
  • form productive and professional relationships with your colleagues, seeking help where needed
  • be accountable for performance expectations, behavioural standards and legislative responsibilities that relate to your job
  • contribute to a safe and healthy workplace and positive culture
  • reflect upon your performance and identify relevant learning goals
  • provide constructive feedback to the principal regarding the induction process

There are 3 basic components of the induction process:

Your Responsibilities.

  • Complete the induction checklist - The induction checklist contains all the necessary tasks you'll need to complete, along with suggested completion dates. You should work through the checklist with your line manager or induction buddy.
  • Complete the induction surveys - In addition to conversations with the Principal you will also receive an email inviting you to complete a short survey at 4 weeks, 12 weeks and 6 months after your commencement date.

Workstation Ergonomic Checklist

New or returning employees are advised to complete a 'workstation ergonomics checklist'. The aim of this checklist is to optimise the comfort of staff and reduce the risk of suffering musculoskeletal injuries or disorders. It is designed to assist in making the correct adjustments to the equipment and furniture at a workstation.
