Upper Junior - Mother's Day Activities
In Upper Juniors, we love Mother’s Day as it is a great opportunity for us to reflect on and celebrate the relationships we have with special women in our lives. In our English lessons, we took a break from our “Under The Sea” theme to read books like “Guess How Much I Love You” (by Sam McBratney) and “Llama, Llama, Mad At Mama”(by Anna Dwedney). These led to a wonderful array of discussions from how we can express love, to the fun, as well as boring (but necessary) things we do with our families and carers. We then got busy as bees creating a variety of gifts to surprise our loved ones on Mother’s Day!
Early Education Program (EEP) News
This week in EEP the children went on an excursion to Dinosaur World. All of the children arrived excited and ready to go on the Yarrabah School buses. The children enjoyed looking out the bus window and pointed out all different things along the way. Once we arrived at Dinosaur World the children all got out of the bus and had a photo with the big dinosaur at the entrance of the park. We met our lovely guides that showed us all of the dinosaurs some of them even moved and roared. As a special surprise on the way back to school the children got McDonalds chips. They were delicious. It was a great day we are looking forward to doing it again in the future.
Golf at Edithvale Golf Club
On Friday, April 30th Senior students got the opportunity for a come try golf session at Edithvale Golf Club along with other schools in the S.S.S.S.A sports program. Half of our students got to practice their skills on the course while the other half honed their putting, chipping and iron play on the practice facilities. A great afternoon was had by all.
