Middles News

Horse riding began this week for some students. They loved it. There will be opportunities for other students to do the program in T3. Meanwhile, the children are enjoying our electives/morning regulation activities, including PE club, Cooking club, ever-popular Wake and Shake, as well as LEGO club and Relaxation club.

This week in Upper Junior (P10)

Lower Junior's Reptile Encounter

In Lower Junior the students had a special visit from Reptile Encounter. Everyone was so brave watching and then getting a turn to pat and feel the different textures and the skin of each reptile. Thank you to Iroshi for organising the amazing experience.

Camp Manyung

On Wednesday 5th May, some students from Lower Secondary and Upper Secondary joined up for 3 days of fun and adventure at Camp Manyung.  We spent Wednesday at the Enchanted Garden in Dromana going down tube slides, getting lost in mazes, walking amongst the trees tops and through beautiful gardens.

After getting settled in at camp, we went down to the beach to watch a beautiful sunset.  Mexican was on the menu for dinner followed by roasting marshmallows by the campfire. To the staffs' delight, all students had a great sleep.

Another beautiful day greeted us, we went for a walk around the Briar’s.  The highlight of the afternoon was the tree rolling course.  Students got to traverse an obstacle course high in the tree tops and hook onto the flying fox to come back down to earth. We headed back down to the beach in the late afternoon to skim rocks and watch another beautiful sunset.  That night we set the big projector up to watch Moama and feast on popcorn.

Bike riding was scheduled for Friday morning and students got to experience a range of different bikes from recumbent bikes, tricycles, wheelchair bikes and arm powered bikes. It certainly was a lot of fun.  We headed to Mornington pier followed by fish n' chips for lunch in the park.  It was an adventure packed camp and all our students had a fantastic time.  Thanks to the wonderful staff who made the camp happen!
