Relationships

Thank you to our volunteers in Upper Secondary

We would like to give a big shout out to our volunteers this term (and the last one)!

Micah and Bailey, both former students of Yarrabah, have been giving up their Fridays to help out across a number of our programs. From PE to choir, from Nail It to Travel Ed, these young men have been invaluable. Well done!

Another star performer has been Bastian Skahill.  He completed his placement, for a Certificate 4 in Disability Support, during term 1, and continues to come in every Wednesday to support our kids. Bastian brings his trademarks of care and conscientiousness to all his interactions with staff and students; we love our Wednesdays with Bastian!

We also have the pleasure to have Lee this term, another certificate course student. He is a patient and calm presence in every session.

Birthday Celebrations in Upper Secondary

This week we also celebrated Corey’s 16th birthday. He was soooo excited to see the party food all laid out for us to feast on! Thank you, Shelley! We are still working our way through the donuts…

     And Nicholas Bedikian turned 17!

Seeking Working Bee Volunteers - Can you help?

We are seeking volunteers for our upcoming working bee to assist with tasks such as: weeding, fence installation, garden preparation and removal of building materials surplus to requirements. All are welcome, including family and friends. There will be a sausage sizzle provided, giving volunteers an opportunity to meet other families and staff. Please complete the registration form to assist with catering on the day via this link: https://forms.gle/rq724caNmJLPfEKU6

Volunteers are encouraged to bring tools, including wheelbarrows, general gardening and power tools. Further details will be provided prior to the event.

We appreciate that many families plan their weekends well in advance and may not be able to attend on May 22nd. Another working bee will be arranged later in the year.

Event Timing: Saturday, May 22nd. 9am-12pm

Event Address: 23 Mill Street, Aspendale, 3195

Thank you Gardenworld Keysborough

Our senior students would like to thank Gardenworld for their kind donation of flower seedlings. The students potted them into small containers and sold them at last week’s Pop up shop so not only did they have flowers to sell but had the opportunity to develop new work skills.

Learn to Play thank you

We had Rebecca (Esteban's mum) and Peter (Ella and Jess' dad) help put together the flat packs for our play equipment which was a massive help for the OT team. Thank you both for generously donating your time.
