School Sport

This will be the last week of winter sports (soccer, netball, league tag, tennis ($2.00), basketball) as the athletics carnival is on next Thursday

 

HTS Athletics Carnival

The Holy Trinity Athletics Carnival is on Thursday 24 June at the Inverell Sports Complex. Families are welcome to attend, but will need to sign using the QR code and following social distancing guidelines. Students will be completing track events on the day including the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m. Field events will be completed in the first two weeks next term during sport. Students are to wear their full school sports uniform but may wear house colour T-shirts on the day (Johns – yellow, Marks – red, Pauls – blue, Leos – Green). Students should bring their hat, sunscreen and water bottle. If your child suffers from asthma they should bring their own Ventolin. A canteen will be available on the day. ​​​​​​​

 

Diocesan Soccer

Congratulations to all students who participated in the Diocesan Soccer Gala day in Armidale in week 7.

 

Netball NSW Cup

Congratulations to all students who participated in the Netball NSW Cup day in Inverell last week. The Yr 7/8 girls (2nd), Yr 9/10 girls (2nd) and Yr 10 boys (1st) teams have all qualified for the regional finals to be held in Tamworth next term.

 

NSWCCC Cross Country

Congratulations to April Neppl, Griffin Sanderson, Isaac Whan, Hunter Ribeiro and Isabella Thompson who attended the NSWCCC Cross Country in Sydney last week. 

 

Small Schools Rugby League 

Good luck to the U14’s and U16’s rugby league teams playing in the Small Schools Knockout at Kamilaroi Oval today.

 

Bill Turner Cup Soccer

Good luck to the Bill Turner Cup soccer team who play McCarthy Catholic College Tamworth at the Inverell Sports Complex on Friday 18 June at 11:00am.

Primary Sport

Polding Cross Country

Congratulations to Olivia Selig who came 4th at the Polding Cross Country in Eastern Creek last Tuesday. She will now compete as a member of the Polding team at the State Carnival early next term.

 

Polding Rugby Union

Good luck to Angus Norman and Fergus Roger who will travel to Forbes on the weekend to participate in the Polding Rugby Trials as members of the Armidale team. We wish them all the best in what will probably be very 'fresh' conditions.

 

Year 3-10 Athletics Carnival

The Year 3-6 School Athletics Carnival will be held at the Sporting Complex. It will be on Thursday 24 June  in Week 10 of Term 2 starting at approx. 9:15am. Families are welcome to attend, but will need to sign using the QR code and following social distancing guidelines.

Children will be transported by bus and will be supervised by staff. Students are to compete in age groups – 8\9 years, 10 years, 11 years & 12 years. Track events include 800m, 200m, 100m & house relays. Most ages will also compete in some novelty events where time permits and do not clash with races. Events will begin with the 800m followed by the other events. No exact start times can be given. Students are to wear their full school sports uniform but may wear house colour T-shirts on the day (Johns – yellow, Marks – red, Pauls – blue, Leos – Green). Children should bring their hat, sunscreen and water bottle. If your child suffers from asthma they should bring their own Ventolin. All field event finals will be held Friday 18 June at school on the back oval.

 

Year 1 King Fit

This will be the last week for King Fit sessions. Please pay your child’s classroom teacher any outstanding IOU's. The children have had a great time developing their coordination and strength skills each Friday.

 

Year 2 King Fit

Next term as part of their sports program, children in Year 2 will be starting sessions with Nick King on Friday, 16 July. At the centre they will work on strength, balance and locomotion activities.

 

Cost is $3.00 each week. Please pay your child’s classroom teacher on a weekly basis. They will go for 5 weeks over the term. Students will be transported by bus to and from the centre. 

 

Primary Sport

Weather permitting, the Primary will participate in field event finals this week. The Athletics Carnival track events will be held in Week 10.
