Farewell

When we take leave for summer this December, I will be farewelling my beloved Preshil community to embark upon a new adventure with my family.  For my family, it has been a long held dream to live by the sea, and now we have the opportunity to make this a reality.  I have been offered an exciting teaching position down the west coast of Victoria, which will begin in the New Year.   After much deliberation with my loved ones, and having accepted the role, our family has decided to ‘live bravely’ and take a collective courageous leap into the unknown.

I remember distinctly back in 2006, the day that I pulled up stumps in the UK, to accept a teaching role at Preshil, and this decision to teach in the progressive school landscape has taken me on a rich journey as an educator.  On reflection, I have been privileged to collaborate with many remarkable colleagues, children and families during my time at Arlington, and I have forged dear friendships through these shared experiences.  I trust it will not be the end of my connection with this unique place and people, and I look forward to relishing the remains of this term together.
