Kinder

Term 4 will see us support the Kinder Inquiry Unit about food chains, life cycles and the Playworld of Charlotte’s Web.  We will look at different stories, songs and activities to deepen our understandings.  The children have already created 'des petites araignées' (little spiders) and 'des abeilles' (bees).

Lofties

This term we will be looking at different animal stories.  Our first followed the adventures of 'Le Chat en Botté' (Puss in Boots) with Sid playing the main character – a mouse as a cat???   We will also start to add more numbers to our count with the children keen to get up to 20 and introduce the days of the week.

The Sunroom

We ended Term 3 with a book focus – Le Petit Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.   We learnt about the real life adventures of Antoine the pilot and how his experiences may have influenced his writing.  We then designed our own planets - what did we consider important to include?

For the next few weeks we will be preparing to present the story of La Petite Poule Rouge (The Little Red Hen) and Le Petit Chaperon Rouge (Little Red Riding Hood) to the younger French classes.  Using well-known stories provides a wonderful opportunity to practice our French.

The Peppercorns

Bonjour et bienvenue dans la classe des 10 et 11 ans.

Our central idea for Term 4:

Communicating clearly leads to a formation of identity.  This can help us to interconnect a global community and reduce the differences between people.

In the 10s & 11s, we are focusing on conversation.  Engaging in conversation is key when speaking a new language.

We will revisit vocabulary covered earlier in the year to reinforce common words and phrases.  We will formulate questions, explore ideas and discuss different points of view, through surveys. This approach encourages the 10 & 11s to express themselves openly and challenge their engagement, not only in communication but also intellectually and emotionally.
