DO YOU ASPIRE TO STUDY AT LA TROBE UNIVERSITY? ‘ASPIRE’ is a program at La Trobe which rewards Year 12 students’ community contribution with a conditional early offer to their chosen degree. The Aspire Program is designed to give you the tools you need to succeed to La Trobe and beyond. Successful applicants need a minimum ATAR for 50 for entry to courses (excluding some professional degree programs). You will also need to meet all course prerequisites and any special requirements for your preferred course. Applications are now open at: www.latrobe.edu.au/aspire. Offers will be made for the Aspire program in September, well before your ATAR is known.
FOCUS ON WILLIAM ANGLISS INSTITUTE – William Angliss institute is a specialist centre for food, tourism, hospitality and events careers. Located in the centre of Melbourne (555 La Trobe St), it has been training, inspiring and mentoring the leaders in industry for 75 years. It offers modern training facilities, restaurants and demonstration kitchens, with courses ranging from apprentice-ships and certificates in cookery, baking, patisserie and butchery to certificate, diploma and advanced diploma courses in hospitality, tourism and events. The Institute also offers specialist degrees in Tourism and Hospitality Management, Culinary Management and Event Management.
Commencing in 2018, William Angliss Institute will be offering new tourism qualifications designed to meet the changing needs of the growing tourism and hospitality sector:
- Bachelor of Tourism - gives you a solid understanding of the tourism industry that will underpin a career in this industry. Skills central to working in this field will be developed including analytical skills, critical thinking, problem solving, research and written/verbal communications.

- MURRUP BARAK EXPERIENCE AND LEADERSHIP CAMP – This camp is for Year 11/12 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students intending to complete VCE and interested in going to university. The camp will provide interactive experiences high-lighting the support available, the university experience, and opportunities to meet with faculties and other Aboriginal and Torres Strait students, with a welcome to Wurundjeri Country, discussion with staff/students, and campus tours. BACHELOR OF EDUCATION AT VICTORIA UNIVERSITY (P-12)
Do you want to make a difference in the lives of young people by launching your career with a Bachelor of Education? VU is one of a few universities to offer a Bachelor of Education (P-12), which allows graduates to teach at any school level. Throughout the course, students will work in primary and secondary settings to complete at least 80 days of teaching practice. In Year 4 they participate in an extended placement in either a primary or secondary school. - PATHWAYS TO MONASH LAW – Monash has its first group of students enrolled in the new Law Pathway degrees this year. These are designed for students who have the determination to succeed in the B. Laws but just miss out on the Clearly-in ATAR. If you are an Indigenous Australian or live in a low socio-economic area or have experienced financial hardship, you could be eligible. WHAT IS MYOTHERAPY? Myotherapists are specialists in the assessment, treatment and management of nerve, muscle and joint health and can help patients with a variety of sporting and occupational injuries and conditions, and the pain that comes with them. Myotherapy is becoming increasingly recognised for its ability to tackle the growing amount of musculoskeletal pain. It is taught at a number of institutions including RMIT and Chisholm, and at a number of private colleges such as the Southern School of Natural Medicine.
