Français à Arlington10s et 11s
Quelle excitation dans la classe des 10 et 11 ans.
On pose des questions, on répond, on s’amuse et on apprend.
Qui es-tu? - Who are you?
The 10s & 11s are responding through activities and role-play to Qui es-tu? They performed and modelled the comic strip of Léo and Nina and extended their conversations. The children are talking about their age, nationality, where they live and sharing their preferences.
They are enjoying joining in the song about Nicolas and Marie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BgyvEXTZbk
7s, 8s et 9s
Au sein de la classe des 7, 8 et 9 ans, c’est Le café de Jardin.
Together with Rachel, Michael and Melissa we have developed ideas on a Pop-up café. In the French classes, we focused on exploring and learning about conversations in a café, expressing likes and dislikes and un peu de mathématiques en français avec des euros. The children engaged in memory games and other activities for consolidation. The role-playing was a highlight, taking turns to be the customer and the waiter or waitress. Bravo!
Through songs, games, pictures and new friends such as Sid Souris the children have been developing their French vocabulary and understanding. We have focused on extending our greetings beyond Bonjour to enquire about how we may be feeling.
Comment ça va?
ça va bien
ça va mal
ça va comme ci comme ça
Sid Souris has shared his family tree with us and we all had a go at representing our own different families.
We continue to practise our colours and numbers through songs, books and activities.
We are also learning the names for different parts of our bodies. This came into use during a game of Hospital Tiggy in our combined Sports/French class with Talitha when we could only save people by touching certain parts of the body and calling them out in French.
We finally got creative and combined all of our understanding in a drawing eg draw a character with two red heads, six yellow noses etc.
Et voici Juldana
Juldana is our French assistant for this term - all the way from Paris. She has been spending time with the 5s & 6s on Tuesdays and in the Kindergarten on Friday mornings. She is also supporting the 7s, 8s & 9s in their French vocabulary of Le Café du Jardin. “I love helping at the Primary and the Kindergarten. It is so refreshing for me, talking and playing games with the kids. I also really like to teach them French words; they love asking me questions, about my life in France. That is very nice.”
The children have really enjoyed having her around, playing games and spending time with her drawing pictures.
