Kindergarten Buddies
We are thoroughly enjoying the time that is dedicated to our 'buddies' on Mondays. The first few sessions were about making connections with our older friends and learning new names. But as the weeks have progressed, the conversations and engagement between the children have also progressed.
One of things we have been exploring in Kindergarten this week is how to be a friend, what makes a good friend and how you can make new friends. For some of our youngest learners, it can be quite challenging figuring out how to share and take turns. We have been using role play to explore different ways of communicating, including how to share ideas and information with others, and how to ask questions that show that you are interested.
We have had some fantastic conversations about friendships so far, and it's been lovely to hear all the different ways we can make new friends. Our time with the buddies has been so valuable for having new conversations and learning new ways of connecting with older and younger friends. We love our buddies time!
