Premier's Reading Challenge
At the beginning of Term One, the Junior School learning community was challenged with the idea of ‘Kaizen’-Japanese for ‘good change’. ‘Kaizen’ is constant and gradual improvement. In 2016 we had 3 students compete the Premier’s Reading Challenge’. This year, 17 students from Prep to Year 5 completed the ‘Challenge’, with five recording fabulous totals well in excess of the recommended 15 texts.
Harley Kearns - 55 books
Sophie Merrin - 54 books
Lachlan Reid - 53 books
Meg Ogle - 44 books
Zoe Weinberg - 42 books
Special mention to the Piccino students who read over 80 books with Mrs O’Brien and the Early Learning Centre staff!
Orientation Day
Next Wednesday is the Junior School Orientation Day. Our Year 5 students will move up to the Middle Years Centre and experience life as Year 6s. Our current Prep to Year 4 students will move up to their 2018 classes, where they will meet their new teachers. A number of new students to the Junior School will also be joining us. We look forward to an exciting and rewarding day.
