Art Show Update

From the Specialist Art Team

Art Show Cancelled

Week 2 of Term 4 was to be a special whole school event. Our Art Show was to be a celebration of the Visual and Performing Arts encompassing an amazing Visual Art display featuring work by every student at the school, as well as a Concert Program featuring every group and showcasing work from Drama and Music with input from our Italian and Auslan Specialist programs.

Sadly, due to ongoing restrictions, we will not be able to hold this event as planned.

Putting our Concert Program items together has been a constant challenge as we have been unable to rehearse consistently with students due to the amount of time spent in remote learning. At the start of Term 3, we were still hopeful we could bring something together and had plans in place for a series of short concert programs to be staged outdoors in a COVID-safe setting. Of course, Term 3 didn’t pan out the way we all would have liked.

Art on display around the school

On a much more positive note, Our Art Specialists Mel and Nerinda have been working hard to display a huge range of beautiful artwork that students produced when onsite. The artwork is now on display throughout the school, and it looks amazing!

While we are still unable to provide certainty about when and how families will be able to view the Visual Art displays, we wanted to let you know that artwork will remain on display into Term 4 and we have our fingers crossed we will be able to welcome you onsite to view this wonderful display at some point.

If not, we have plans to share student work with you … online.

We are determined to end the year celebrating and showcasing student work and achievement in the Arts and their specialist subjects. To this end, the Specialist Team will be drawing on the pivoting skills gained from months of remote learning to present a virtual, online Celebration of The Arts!

Plans for our online Celebration of The Arts are now underway for Term 4. We will keep you posted and we look forward (virtually) to showcasing and celebrating student work achievement in the Arts with you!
