Sydenham Campus Principal Message

Sydenham Campus- Principals’ Report

It has been wonderful to see all of our students and staff return to the Campus after the extended lockdown. Despite the changes to the campus- the library becoming a temporary staff office- students have settled back into their familiar routines. Our ‘welcome back’ cookies were a hit and we thank Belinda Palladino for organising them for our Campus. We are quickly approaching the end of our Champion year at the

Campus Goals

Sydenham Campus. The goals that we set for this year were;

* Increase student attendance and connectedness

* Increase in positive incidents – let’s catch the students doing the right thing

* Increase participation in Student Led Presentations (SLPs)

*Focus on adhering to established processes As we reflect on our year, we are very pleased with the progress we have made as a campus towards these goals and we thank the students and staff for their contributions. Our campus Leadership Team will be reviewing these goals and setting new priorities for 2022.

Planning 2022

The planning for 2022 continues the Year 10 students attend the Delahey campus to participate in the Year 11-12 Transition program November 22 - 26. These students will be undertaking a Year 12 subject as part of their Year 11 VCE course. Student feedback has been extremely positive. In 2022, we will have three (3) VCE classes running on the Sydenham campus. Current Year 9 students have chosen to undertake, Units 1 and 2 in Biology, Business Management or Psychology as part of their Year 10 program. We congratulate those students and their families in supporting them to begin their VCE program.

Year 9 students have been confirming their 2022 courses in this last week of term after the completion of the Step Up program.

 Thank you to Karen Martin and the Year 9 and 10 Team Leaders for their continued work and support of the students in B and K Teams.

Year 7 2022

Year 7 2022 Information Evening was very well attended despite it being an online event. We had lots of excited Grade 6 students who attended the campus on Orientation Day, Tuesday Dec 7. Thank you to Lina Nicolas and Andrew Atherton for their work in putting the presentation together. Abraham Nyieth was also available to assist families in Dinka, and Tamara Ghazale and Ercan Hasip ably assisted with answering questions for students and families.

2021 Year 10 Celebration

The Year 10s celebration day was on Friday Nov 26 where we farewelled them while enjoying the ‘Principals Lunch’ reflecting on their four (4) years at the Sydenham Campus through a slide show of photos, speeches and performances. Campus Captains Maddie and Makayla delivered the closing address. Thank you to Team Leaders Belinda Galea and Melissa Talevski for collating the slide show.

Pasifika Student Leadership Program
