Principal Team Editorial

Back to some sense of normal

There was a definite buzz in the air as students and teachers were back onsite during the week.  We were all a bit excited after undertaking remote learning for so long.  The staff have been working hard to provide students with a sense of stability, predictability and routine as students return to classes.  Students will have noticed a certain routine in each class, teachers greeting them at the door, reminders about the importance of masks and a "do now" activity the minute they walk in the room.  This has led to a sense of calm in classrooms which has been a huge benefit to those students who were experiencing anxiety about coming back to school.

We are working hard to provide students with many of the experiences they have missed in the remaining few weeks of the term.  A big thank you to our Year 9 camp team who in the space of a week have got the year 9 camps up and running.  This is no small feat as many of these camps have huge organisational components.  We thank those staff who will be attending the camps in advance; a week away from home and family at short notice is a big ask.

The Production Crew have been working hard and we are proud to announce there will be a series of shows later this term.  Stayed tuned for details and information about ticket sales.

It will be a busy time for Mr Lewis and the tech crew as we are also happy to announce we are planning to go ahead with our awards night at the Robert Blackwood Hall at Monash University.

The Year 10 and 11 students will be happy to hear that we have secured December 8th for the Winter/Spring/Summer Ball at  the Grand on Cathies and ticket sales have reopened for the next 10 days.

We couldn't squeeze a Valedictory dinner in this year as many of our Year 12 students are taking time our to head of for a schoolies experience once the exams are over.  We have, however, booked The Grand on Cathies on February 3rd.  Tickets will go on sale later this month.

The Principal Team would like to extend a big thank to all staff who have worked so hard to make these events happen.

Year 12 Exams

The Year 12 VCE exams got of to a great start last week and now that English, EAL and English Language are over the vast majority of students have at least one under their belt.  It will be a stressful time for our students over the remainder of the exams, but we would like to remind them  how well prepared they are and that we are confident that they will give it their best shot.
